Look forward to hearing from you and hope you decide to join us for another great season aboard the Mary Lou Crew! Stripers!!!!
Had the Mary Lou Crew out for a Striper charter up to Sandy Hook. After one move we found the fish and limited out with all the fish weighing between 15 and 16 pounds. The largest fish caught was 20lbs. We had great weather and flat calm conditions. The charter was very happy with everyone catching their limit. Till next time! Stripers!!!!
Had the Mary Lou Crew out for another bang up day of striper fishing. We fished with four guys onboard and had bass up to 20 lbs the smallest one was 13lbs. We also caught our share of bluefish. The boat traffic was a little heavy and caused the fish to go down deep, but with the hard work of the mate Phil Mancini he was able to keep the rods bent!!! Great weather and decent ocean conditions. Till next trip!! Stripers!!!!
Had the Mary Lou Crew back out for a half day of striper fishing with the Jennifer Gilbert and her fiance charter. It was a great trip, we had our limit of bass with all the fish caught being in the range of 15 to 22lbs!!!! We could not catch a slot fish!! The ocean was nice and the fish were stacked up at the Rocks. Good luck to the future husband and wife!!! Stripers!!!!

Had the boat back out on Sunday for another incrediable day of trolling bunker spoons. Had the Andy Fontana charter out and had the boat limited out in 2 hours!!! We were releasing 34" inch striper. The largest fish caught went 27 pounds and again we could not find a slot fish. Stripers!!!!
Had the boat out for the third straight day for another shot at the stripers. Unfortunately the Bass had left the area from the previous two days. With Drew and Al Williams charter aboard we had to settle for Bluefish. We tried all our tricks for the day and could not get under the blues to get a striper to eat. Although we had fish under the boat the bluefish covered us up. I guess thats why they call it fishing and not catching! Stripers!!!!
Had the boat out on Saturday for another shot at the stripers. It started out slow, with plenty of bunker around but no fish under them. We live lined some of the bunker, but could not get a fish to take the baits. We made a move up to the rocks, but again the boat traffic chased the fish down and we had to work hard for a fish. Once we found the fish in 20 feet of water and the tide changed over we had our limit! All the fish caught were on spoons and every fish was over 20 pounds with the largest tipping the scale over 25 lbs!! We finished the day strong and had plenty of fillets!!! Sharks
Had the Mary Lou Crew down to Cape May NJ for the South Jersey Shark Tournament. The first day was cancelled due to rough ocean conditions, but Saturday the ocean calmed down and we were out there. We had a great day of shark fishing. We started fishing at 9:30 and by 10:00 we had our first Mako on. This shark was at the boat in ten minutes and was only around 100 lbs and was released. We continued on for the day and caught a total of 8 sharks, 2 makos and 6 blue sharks!!!! Day two we were back in the same location and although we did not catch as many sharks as the day before we did manage 1 mako around 125 lbs and 3 blue sharks. A great two days of fishing and a great tournament! Maybe next year we will catch a fish for the scale and bring home some prize money!!!! Sharks
Had the boat out on Friday for another shark trip. With the Todd Duncan party. Our first stop produced nothing but 1 jumbo bluefish. We moved east in search of better water and found it 10 miles. We has one small mako that was around 80 pounds that we cut free and several other run offs that we did not hook up with. Great bunch of guys on board made a slow day of sharking not so bad! Sharks
Had the boat out for the Mako Mania tournament and also the Brett Bailey tournament. The day started off slow. We had great water and sea conditions, but no sharks untill around 11:30am. Then we were coveres up in blue sharks. At around 1:30 we had our shot. We had a mako of around 275-300lbs take a whole bluefish of the transome. He took the first bait and chewed it for a little and dropped it, but came back for another whole bait. This time after a long run with the bait I set the hook only to have him spit it 5 minutes later. It was a hard one to swollow for the crew of the Mary Lou. We will get him next time!!! Stripers
Had the Brian Conklin charter out for a half day of striper fishing. We located the large schools of bunker down south, but it appeared as though all the fish were fat and full. We managed one striper around 30lbs and had a few others dropped. The water was cold which might have been the other reason for such slow fishing. Sharks
Had the boat out for the Jersey Coast Shark Anglers Mako Tounament. We had nice conditions for sharking. We started the day of with a couple of big blue sharks and then finally hooked up with a 100lb mako at around 11am. We landed this fish and went into release mode and caught 1 more small 75lb mako and 1 more big blue shark. Nice day overall for sharking and a wrap up for the shark tournaments for 2004. Sea Bass
Had the boat out with 3 anglers on board for some real good Sea Bass fishing. We caught around 80 fish and kept 35 decent Sea Bass. The weather was excellent and ocean conditons were great. We made only one stop on one small piece of wreck. We also had a couple of small Black fish and when the boat swung off the wreck we were covered up in dog fish. Tuna
Had the boat out to the Lindenkohl Canyon on Saturday for a day troll. We started at 5:30am and by 6 we had our first knockdown. For the rest of the day we ended up having 10 knockdowns and boated four nice yellowfins in the 50-60 pound range. The fish were spread out and you had to work pretty hard to raise them. The other boats that fished near us didn't do as well and I only saw one other fish boated in the area. We had great weather and sea conditions. Bluefish
Had the boat out for some day bluefishing. With four anglers on board the charter did very well considering the amount of boats! We caught our limit of big bluefish in the 10 pound range and released everyone of them!!!! Great bunch of guys and real decent fishing. Fluke
Had the boat out for another inshore bottom trip. We started fishing south of the inlet and started off very slow. Once the tide changed and the wind picked up just a little we started to hit the fluke. We ended up putting 13 keepers in the box with two in the 4 pound range. We had plenty of shorts to keep us active and some skates and sand sharks. Nice day aboard the Mary Lou Crew with only four anglers filling the cooler. Bluefish
Had a 5 man charter out bluefishing on a flat calm day. Our first stop was brief and had only two fish. We moved after a hour and within 10 minutes had the fish around the boat. By 9:30am the charter was limited out with fish in the 10 to 12 pound class. They decided to stay until 12 noon and release everything and they continued with non stop action until they were all worn out!! Great day aboard the Mary Lou Crew Fluke
Had the George Gibson charter out for a day of fluke fishing. We had a great trip with this group! We caught just under 20 keepers and had a strange thing happen for the first time. David who was around 14 years old had a tough day of fishing, but he finally caught his fish after many hours of sticking it out. He boated a 6 pound fluke. The fluke was put on ice in the cooler and after about 5 minutes the mate went to get some bait out of the same cooler, and upon going to open the top the 6lb fluke popped the lid open and jumped out of the cooler and back into the water! I have never seen anything like it before!! Other then that it was a great day on the water with flat calm seas and hot weather. George added one 3lb seabass to the catch of fluke to top off the day!!! Fluke
Had the boat out for another good day of fluke fishing. With only 3 onboard we managed to put a nice catch of good size flatties in the box. The largest fish of the day was around 4 pounds. The conditions were perfect for drifting and we finished the day with 15 keepers. Bluefish
Had the boat out for another day of bluefishing. We had six guys onboard and went up to 17 fathoms and had a slow pick. We made a quick move to the mud bouy and started to pick away at the fish and by the end of the day we had our limit and released some fish too. Fluke
Had a charter out on Sunday for a full day fluke trip. Kip from PA was the contact for the charter and did a great job! Although the conditions were pretty bad with 4-6 foot seas. We did very well consider the ocean, with 11 keepers and double that in shorts. We also had one 3lb seabass. The group did great job fishing is real tough conditions. Fluke
Had Doug from Booton, NJ and his two sons out for a short morning of fluke fishing. When we left the inlet the ocean was as flat as a lake, but after 1 hour it turned ugly again. The winds kicked up to a solid 15knts and it was around 4 to 5 foot seas. After stopping on the reef for a few short drifts and no fish, we moved a little North and had fish right away on a very small piece. We put six nice flatties in the box and on the last drift we caught a 4 1/2 foot THRESHER SHARK on a fluke rig which we boated and then quickly released it. After 2 hours of fishing they called it quites. Bluefish
Had the boat out with the Christian Schwerd charter for a day of bluefishing. We fished at the Farms and had decent action for the first half of the trip, but the afternoon really slacked off. We kept enough fish that the charter wanted and released several more, and headed in with a happy charter. Tuna
Had the boat out to the Toms Canyon for some great tuna fishing!! We caught 12 big tuna 10 yellowfin and 2 longfin all the yellows were in the 80lb class and the two longfins were 60lbs. All the fish except the one longfin were caught on the chunk and we were feeding the fish right off the transome under the spreader lights. This non stop action went on from 5am till 6:30 and when it was over we were worn down and ready to head home!!! Seabass
Had the Mary Lou Crew for a six man seabass trip on Sunday. Well to put it simple we crushed the fish!!!! On our first drop we put together a nice catch with some real nice size seabass. We moved after that wreck started to slow a bit and upon dropping on the second wreck it was non stop action for the rest of the day with fish on as soon as the bait hit the bottom. The charter ended the day with 93 seabass in the fishbox!!! They released double that amount. Great day with a good bunch of guys! Fluke
Had the boat out for a shot a some flatties. The first stop did not produce a single fish. But after staying there for just a short time we moved to a wreck and decided to drift the edges of it in search of some big boys! Well this was a good idea. We ended the day with ten keepers and 4 of the fished weighed 6lbs 5.5lbs 4.5 and 4lbs. It was a great right up untill the tide switched and the drift changed. Sea Bass
Had the Mary Lou Crew out for another great seabass and blackfish trip. We stopped on one wreck in 65 feet of water and never had to leave the piece other then make a few adjustments. We ended up limiting out on both species. We had great weather and decent sea conditions. Sea Bass
Had the Mike Holmes Charter out from Allentown PA and boy did we beat up the fish! With 5 guys onboard we finished the day with 70 Sea Bass and 5 Blackfish. We released at least double that amount. It was ashame that the blackfish season was not open yet and we could only keep one fish per guy, or we would have had many more fish to fillet! The group of guys were great and the fishing was awesome! Tautog "Blackfish"
Had the boat out for a great day of blackfishing. We fished one of our favorite spots on the reef and had fish on right away. We ended the day with 20 big blackfish with the largest one going 8lbs and a few in the 5 to 6 pound class. Beautiful weather and the ocean was as flat as a pond! 2004 Year Wrap Up
